Bear Mosaic Table

This piece was designed to reflect the attraction of the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island. From the teeming deep water of the inlet, the fields give way to the forest, then to the rising coastal mountains and the sky above. It is a working table for a retail customer, and reflects the different styles of mosaics, carving and sculpting. The bear, salmon and kelp are hand sculpted. The water surface, sand and mountains are hand-carved. The deep water is geometric cut mosaic, and the rest is cut and broken mosaics.
